Revitalize, Reimagine, and Volunteer: Unleash the Power of Good
Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Carnegie One Braddock. Since the day this iconic building was saved from demolition in the 1980s, volunteers have played a pivotal role in its restoration and reopening. They have rolled up their sleeves, cleared debris, repaired plaster, raised funds, and so much more. Together, we have witnessed the incredible power of people coming together to support a cause.
Now, we invite you to be a part of this transformative journey and breathe new life into this fortress of good. Carnegie One holds a special place in the world: it’s the first Carnegie library in the United States, and it symbolizes the power of community and the enduring spirit of helping others.
Our library's needs have come full circle. Just as Andrew Carnegie built this library to empower individuals, we now rely on caring individuals like you to carry forward his legacy. With your support, we can continue to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
We have a range of volunteer opportunities available, including:
- Fundraising and friend raising
- Helping with programs & events
- Landscaping
- Occasional heavy labor (moving items)
To apply, complete the online application linked above or come in person to fill in a paper application. Once completed, please return it to Carnegie One in person or via mail. Join us in this extraordinary endeavor and be a force for positive change.
