Connection to opportunity

At Carnegie One, we believe that access to technology is essential for empowering individuals and communities in the digital age. We strive to bridge the digital divide and provide opportunities for all to engage with technology, regardless of their background or circumstances–this is digital equity. Our comprehensive range of technology access resources is designed to enhance digital literacy, foster creativity, and open doors to new possibilities. Explore the diverse technology access opportunities we offer, and unlock the power of technology for learning, exploration, and personal growth.

Public Computers and Wi-Fi

At 419 Library Street, we have six desktop computers available for use in the Adult Collection and six laptop computers that can be used by youth in the Children & Teen Collection. A library card or account is not required to use the computers. Open Wi-Fi is also available.

Our Turtle Creek Satellite also has open Wi-Fi and an additional two laptop computers available for public use.

At both locations, computers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for sessions of 30 minutes. Additional time is available depending on computer availability.

Due to the limited number of computers and the limits on the space available, staff will make all reasonable efforts to keep computers available as needed. Priority is given to patrons who are doing workforce development and youth who are pursuing school work. Staff is given discretion to ensure equitable computer access. In addition, headphones must be used for any sound on computers.

Please note that computers shut down fifteen minutes prior to closing time.

We offer printing, copying, and scanning services at both 419 Library Street and our Turtle Creek Satellite. For prints and copies, the charge is $0.15 per page for black and white and $0.50 per page for color. In addition, we offer faxing at 419 Library Street only. The cost to send a fax is $1.00/page but it is capped at $5 for the first ten pages. Receiving a fax is $0.15 per page. Scanning is a flat rate of $1.00 per job.

We have also introduced the new service of lamination at 419 Library Street. We offer lamination for $0.50 per packet but please reach out ahead of time for jobs that will use more than ten packets.

Digital Resources and Online Services

Your library card grants you access to databases, apps, movies, music, ebooks, and audiobooks, all available to be explored here. If you have any questions about how to access or utilize these resources, please feel free to contact us!
